Legislature pre-facelift

The Fredericton legislature building now looks like every other capital buildings, or Parliament replica... with the copper top, dark and gold/green. However, I remember how our city had a very unique feature, BEFORE the copper face-lift.. I loved it, how it glowed in the dark, and I was disappointed when they redid it to look like every other capitol's.
I painted this in the fall of 2007, not long after it was changed. I had been hanging onto a photograph for a few years with the intention to paint it... so glad I did, because I would never have known that it wouldn't always be there (the same).
16 years later, there are things about this I have been wanting to change/improve, and I still plan to do that. The reference photo was taken by local photographer Stephen Llewellyn. I reached out to him some months ago looking for his blessing or approval, but have not heard back. Working on other projects in the meantime.
